Allan Burrows: What The Superkick Foundation Means To Me

11/4/2016

The Superkick Foundation, as much as it is about charity, is about opportunity. We are extending the opportunity to anyone to write for our website! We're looking for positive stories about charity in wrestling, or about promotions or wrestlers who otherwise wouldn't see coverage by any wrestling news outlets. Here's an introduction to one of our new writers! Please fill out the contact form if you are interested!

Hello, my name is Allan Burrows.

I am, I presume much like yourself,  a huge wrestling fan who has also trained in the art (yes, I believe it is an art, and will refer to it as such). In addition to this, I train actively in mixed martial arts, and hope to make my debut sometime in 2017. I speak 2 languages, English (native) and German. My first piece for the website will be discussing what the superkick foundation means to me.

The Superkick Foundation, as you should already be aware, is by definition, THE wrestling charity. It is run by wrestling fans, in order to benefit wrestling fans in need, wrestlers who put their lives on the line and homeless and poor individuals who need help from people that care. The Superkick Foundation however has not been this to me. I have alluded to the fact that the foundation is run by some of the best people there is, however this kindness extended across the Atlantic. I was and currently am not in need of the help that the foundation offers, and don’t plan to be anytime soon, but often times it is so easy to feel alone in this world, especially as a wrestling fan.

The guys at the foundation have not only become friends, they have given me an opportunity to get my work out there, which may even mean that I will never have to rely on the charity--instead, I have an opportunity to become employed doing what I enjoy and what I actively study.

I do request you support the charity by following them on twitter at @SuperkickFNDN (you can follow me at @HEELBurrows, warning, although I believe in positivity I get angry quite frequently). If possible please donate to the foundation's biggest event, Superkick the Holidays (which you can do so on the main page) which is currently in its final stretch.

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you on some much better constructed articles in the future.
